Wednesday, June 18, 2025 – SSVFD’s Joan Kramer Ascends to President of LAMSFA – Sam Butterfield Becomes Corresponding Secretary

We are so proud that two of our own SSVFD members were sworn in tonight as the President and Corresponding Secretary of LAMSFA (Ladies Auxiliary to the Maryland State Firefighters Association) at the Maryland State Firefighter’s Association Convention in Ocean City, Maryland.
Joan Kramer (pictured left) will serve as the LAMSFA President in the upcoming year. She joined the SSVFD Auxiliary in May of 1997 to support her son Brian, who is a current member. She has held almost every position in our SSVFD Auxiliary. She also recently served as the President to the Auxiliary to the Montgomery County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association (MCVFRA).
Sam Butterfield (pictured right) will serve as the Corresponding Secretary in the upcoming year. She joined the SSVFD Auxiliary in June of 2009 and currently serves as Vice President and chairs the Fire Prevention Committee.
Moving up the ranks of LAMSFA is a slow process which takes 12 years and requires a lot of dedication.
Both of these ladies have dedicated and continue to dedicate countless hours of serving our community, county, and state. We couldn’t be more proud of them!!!
