It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department Past Assistant Chief and Life Member Thomas “Tommy” Phillip Hobbs.  He passed away on January 12, 2024, while under hospice care at Casey House.

SSVFD Chief Bonita, SSVFD President Steve Hamatto, and the Officers and Members of the SSVFD offer the Hobbs Family our sincerest condolences from his Fire Department Family.

Tommy joined SSVFD in August 1956. He rose through the ranks, and was promoted to Assistant Chief.
