On Saturday August 30th at 18:39 hours, Sandy Spring and surrounding stations were alerted for a house fire in the 2300 block of Cranberry Terrace. Multiple callers were advising the house was on fire and a large column of smoke could be seen by responding units. Crews from stations 4 and 40 and Chief 704 and Chief 704B responded. A fire task force was called for additional units. The residents were not home at the time of the fire, but 3 adults and 3 children were displaced. Crews rescued a dog from the house and provided medical care until animal services arrived.
