September 3, 2024 is the 100th Anniversary (1924-2024) of the signing of the Articles of Incorporation for the SANDY SPRING VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT.
The Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department was the 4th local fire and rescue department (LFRD) incorporated in Montgomery County, Md., hence the current designation of our two stations as Station 4 (in Sandy Spring) and Station 40 (in Olney).
This date begins our Centenary Year (9/3/2024-9/2/2025) during which a number of activities are planned.
On this page you’ll find information about these events. Please check back often as the 100th Anniversary parade date approaches and additional information is posted.
