Monday, July 21, 2025 – SSVFD Places New Utility Task Vehicle UTV740 In Service

The Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department is proud to place the new Utility Task Vehicle UTV740 in service. UTV740 is a 2024 John Deere XUV 865M Diesel 4×4 with a Kimtec MTD103 EMS skid. It is replacing SSVFD’s first UTV, a 2010 Kawasaki Mule 4010 Diesel 4×4 (it will be sold at a later date, information will be posted when available).
UTV740 is utilized as an EMS transport unit to bring patients from a hard to access area to the ambulance. Incident types include large events, golf courses, and the many trails in the area. In the event a trail is too small for the UTV to fit, there is additional specialized equipment to assist. UTV740 is also used to shuttle personnel and equipment on limited access incidents.
